Him, along with Cousin Matilde, Parian, Agnes, and Lady Eugenia Spencer are introduced. Emma finds a copy of Paradise Lost in the garret and decided to make up some calling cards.

Emma is banned from the dinning room and describes herself and introduces a few details about St. Crispian’s, Lapis Lazuil House, her situation, and her family.

Emma canvasses St. Crispian's and describes the unique neighborhood.

Emma decides to do something about her garret. She also explains The Roman and discusses him with Agnes.
