Argus 'Tad' Whitaker is the child of Douglas George Whitaker and Mrs. Whitaker. He was named after his mother's brother, Argus Fard. He was born around 1869 and attended Eaton until he was sent home for bad behavior in 1883. His mother is somewhat demanding and his father is often absent.[1][2]

Relationship to Emma

In February of 1884 Emma helped tutor Tad in his school work as part of her secretary duties to his mother. During this time Emma gave him the nickname 'Tad'. He also covered for Emma in a nasty incident involving his Uncle Argus, a fire poker, and the remains of several dead animals.[3] He later gifted Emma the stained run from the incident.[4]
