December 1st
Lapis Lazuli becomes empty but for Emma M. Lion. Treasure Island finds its way to her doorstep, and she begins reading.
December 2nd
At church, Emma does not manage to catch Young Hawkes' gaze at all to thank him for the book.
December 3rd
After reading incessantly in the company of Tybalt, Emma finishes Treasure Island.
December 4th
Emma went for an early walk, and Agnes frets over her application to the Society of St. Crispian's Senior Servants.
December 5th
During tea with Mrs. Penury, Islington bursts in to argue with Emma's advertisement in the Gazette about the Roman. The three settle down for tea, and Pierce appears. After some conversation, Mrs. Penury helps cook in the kitchen, eventually leading to Islington discovering the portrait of himself that hangs there.
December 6th
Islington sends notes in an attempt to remedy yesterday's small catastrophe. Emma begins mapping the Roman, and eventually lets Cousin Archibald join her.
December 7th
Saffronia March invites and accompanies Emma to a party of artists. Emma talks with a man who knew her father, and finds Pierce there as well (who seems to flirt with a good many women).
December 8th
Emma visits the Keep's annual sale at the Reed and Rite to find gifts for her acquaintances.
December 9th
Hawkes comes into church late with the rest of the Reprobates and reads A Christmas Carol at the pulpit.
December 10th
Emma is told through a letter she will Christmas with Aunt Eugenia and her non-existent chaperone, among other guests.
December 11th
Emma bravely sends her refusal to attend the Christmas event.
December 12th
Emma dreams of making gingerbread with her mother, as per Lion Christmas tradition. After waking, she and Agnes make some instead. Piece and Emma take tea in his studio, and she secures him for a relaxing Christmas Eve at Lapis Lazuli.
December 13th
Jack calls in his second favour from Emma, she must take a train to his dying mother and pretend to be his expecting wife.
December 14th
Jack's mother reveals to Emma that she knew the truth and passes away. Emma returns to St. Crispian's.
December 15th
Mrs. Halverstock, a resident of St. Crispian's, accuses Emma of "perversely delighting the neighborhood". Mr. Graves gifts Emma a book without a cover called Vermillion and the Flaming Sword.
December 16th
Arabella visits. She delivers her aunt's mandate for Christmas in person, but acquiesces to refusing on behalf of Emma. Emma plays a few games of darts with Pierce.
December 17th
Emma balance's Lady Sheridan's table at a dinner party. She is regaled with hunting stories from the old gentlemen next to her, and spots Islington. When the men join the drawing room, the pair chat, and Islington escorts her home.
December 18th
Parian put a mouse in the icebox, and Agnes broke his tailbone. Emma embroiders Christmas presents.
December 19th
Agnes' examination with the St Crispian's society of Senior Servants is today, so Emma makes her breakfast. She later acquires a bag of oranges.
December 20th
Emma and Cousin Archibald work on their map, and Emma her Christmas presents.
December 21st
Emma visits The Hound and purchases a gift for Parian. She attempts to buy Johnson's dictionary, but it is too expensive.
December 22nd
Saffronia comes by with a gift. Cousin Archibald decides to dine with Emma and Pierce tonight. Mary arrives suddenly at Emma's door, wet and shivering (she had seen Professor Fletcher and hid in the shrubbery for hours.)
December 23rd
Carols in church. Hawkes is found reassuring Agnes about the Society and helping Cousin Archibald come to terms with the results of his Moral Quandary. He is to Christmas with his sister Matilde. Emma is reminded to find another chair for the drawing room.
December 24th
Preparations for the Christmas Eve party begin. Parian is sent for greenery, Agnes works all day in the kitchen, and Emma sews bows together and hunts for a chair for Hawkes to no avail. A chair from Mrs. Penury appears. Islington and Pierce arrive, it is a nice evening, dinner is served, Emma and Islington attend the Christmas Eve service, Hawkes appears, and gifts are exchanged.
December 25th
Emma gives and opens the rest of her gifts.
December 26th
Pierce reads the paper, Emma reads her new incomplete set of Johnson's dictionary. She tells Parian and Agnes to take a few days with their relatives. Agnes refuses, as Emma should not be left alone in the house with Pierce.
December 27th
Emma remembers past Christmases with her parents and goes to Baron's square in an attempt to see the Roman.
December 28th
Jack pays a late night visit to Emma, and they drink some chocolate together. He reminds Emma that he owes her a favor now.
December 29th
Agnes is accepted into the Society, and Parian returns. He begs not to be sent to Bournemouth, and Emma complies.
